Kenneth's Story
Life
After BVHS, I attended UW-M, and then received my MD degree in 1983. I completed a family practice residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1986 and have been in private practice in Milwaukee (south side) since. I was Chief of Family Practice at St. Francis Hospital from 1986-2005, and have been an Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin for many years. I was National Medical Director of a large managed care organization from 2000-2005 and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare from 2005-2009. I have been especially honored to have had some of our BVHS teachers as patients! And it all started with our Future Physicians Club!!
Workplace
Right after ...Expand for more
graduating from Bay View High School, I started working in the lab at St. Luke's Hospital. I also did "paramedical" exams for insurance companies. Those jobs helped me pay my way through undergrad and medical school. After receiving my MD, I did some "moonlighting" in urgent care centers and emergency rooms during residency. Ever since residency, I have been in private practice on Milwaukee's South side. In 2001 I started as a part-time medical director for APS Health Care. In early 2004 I was appointed their National Medical Director. From 2005-2009, I was Vice President of Medical Affairs for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. I semi-retired in 2017, but still maintain a small concierge-type medical practice.
